“Do everything in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Ahhhhhh, February is finally here! This month is one of my favorites. It’s arrival means January, my second least favorite month, is over and Spring is right around the corner. It’s also the month when I started dating my now husband again after we had broken up almost ten months before. This month does have a couple bad memories attached (more about that in another post), but overall this month is full of hope and excitement for what is to come. And yes…VALENTINE’S DAY! Single or not, let’s all try to celebrate the true meaning of love this month: doing everything we do in love to glorify our Lord. ❤
Without further ado, here are the rules for this month’s tag:
- Thank the person who nominated you to participate.
- Link back to the original post.
- Attach an image that inspires you regarding the month’s theme (or use the original).
- Talk about what this month’s theme means to you.
- Answer the questions.
- Nominate one or more people to participate.
- Enjoy the rest of your month ❤
For February, our theme is called: What’s on Your Heart?

Purple Rose and I have a lot going on in our minds at any given moment, which is one reason we started this series: to take a little bit of time to reflect each month before it truly begins. This month is all about love, really every month should be, but during this month love is in the spotlight because of preparations and stress correlated to Valentine’s Day. What we possibly miss out on this month is recognizing what is really on our hearts, because love is not all about teddy bears, flowers, and chocolates. It would be easy if it was though!
This month, let’s enjoy the season of life we’re in when it comes to love and take the time to reflect on who we are in Christ. How do we show love for His Glory? What’s on our hearts? Is it love? If not, let’s try to change that 🙂
In the mean time, I’ll answer the questions Purple Rose and I agreed upon for our second tag of the year (by the way, she’s awesome and came up with pretty much all of them).
1. Do you believe in “love at first sight”?
Yes! I definitely do. I don’t think we love a person unconditionally at first sight, that I believe takes a lifetime. However, I think we can feel an immediate connection to someone who God has placed in our lives for a reason whether it is temporary or permanent. My parents had this experience, and I did too.
2. Do you believe in soulmates?
I definitely do. I’m a hopeless romantic, I can’t help it. However, I’d like to say every person you love holds a place in your heart forever, so be careful who you share this label with.
3. What is the first thing you notice about a person?
Their eyes. I can’t tell you how much you can see in someone’s eyes. You can see the happiness, pain, anger, and fear a person is feeling immediately. I truly believe in the saying that eyes are the windows to a person’s soul. They are so beautiful and usually tell the truth.
4. What is your ideal date?
Okay, a nice lunch date then a walk around the mall to walk it off, maybe a movie depending on what’s playing. Then, my favorite part, get comfy on the couch (or, if I’m really lucky, in bed for a while 😉 ) and play video games while drinking Code Red Mountain Dew. Maybe tacos or a casserole for dinner while we watch Shark Tank (I’m a huge fan of that show right now. Lol). Honestly the first part is optional, the second part is enough for me!
5. What traits do you look for in friends and/or significant others?
Honesty, humor, and humility. I somehow made all of those have an “H” 😀 Having an open heart that tells the truth, a sense of humor to get through the toughest situations, and humility to recognize we all can be better and work together to do so, are traits important to me in a friend. (Sounds a lot like Purple Rose now that I think about it!)
6. What are your thoughts on being friends with an ex?
I’m not friends with any of my elementary, middle, or high school exes, so I have very limited experience on this topic. However, I grew up with divorced parents and definitely understand the necessity in certain exes remaining friends. If a break up is mutual and respect is still held for one another, I don’t see why not 🙂 the less enemies we have in this world, the better, right?
7. If you’re a believer, when did you give your heart to the Lord? If not, what in life keeps a bounce in your step?
I am a believer and I gave my heart to the Lord officially at seven years old at a Bible Man performance! Bible Man is awesome guys, so Marvel or DC needs to pick him up 😉 After defeating a scary villain, Bible Man asked if there was anyone who would like to come up and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and I gathered up the courage to walk up to the stage along with dozens of other kids. I’ll never forget it ❤ thank you, Mom, for making sure I was involved in stuff like that growing up.
For this month’s tag, I nominate Stuart at Something to Stu Over if he so chooses to participate 🙂 anyone else is welcome to participate as well!
God bless you all! I hope February is full of opportunities of love and growth for us and our relationships with others and Christ. ❤
